Lubricant imports to Ukraine in July rose to their highest level since August 2024, according to the Monthly Lubricants & AdBlue and Monthly Fuels & LPG reports for August 2025.
Imports in July were up 27.7% compared to June and 26.7% year-on-year, reaching the highest level since August 2024.
By delivery type, volumes were almost evenly split between large industrial shipments and packaged products for the retail market.
From January to July 2025, Ukraine imported 97,700 tons of lubricants, 2.6% less than during the same period last year. The decline is largely due to record volumes in March and April 2024, each at 17,900 tons.
The total import value in July increased 19.4% month-on-month and 23.4% year-on-year. The average customs value of bulk lubricants was $1,060/t (down $55/t from June), while packaged products cost $3,501/t (down $179/t). On average, one ton of lubricants in July cost $2,265.
The number of importers in July fell to 208 companies, eight fewer than in June. The largest Ukrainian importers remain SP Yukoil, Gaztron Trade, Inbau, Bestera Oil, and TD Gaztrim.
The leading producer is the Polish company Orlen Oil, with products imported by 14 companies including Inbau, Gaztron Trade, and SP Yukoil. Notably, Astarta BVS purchased 43.6 tons of Orlen products for the first time in 2025.
The second-largest producer by volume is Tayraş, whose products were imported by TD Gaztrim and SP Yukoil. Aktaş Kimya comes next, imported by Bestera Oil. Other major producers include TotalEnergies, Fuchs, ExxonMobil, Motul, Ergon, and others.
Transport by road accounted for 96.4% of deliveries in July, with the remainder shipped by sea.
By product type, base and industrial oils dominated, accounting for 59.0% of imports, compared to 50.4% on average in the first half of 2025. Motor oils made up 33.5%, transmission and gear oils 5.9%, electrical insulation oils 0.9%, and greases for spot applications 0.8%.
