In 2024, Ukrainian companies decreased AdBlue imports by 3% compared to 2023, according to the NaftoRynok Monthly Fuels & LPG analytical report for January 2025.

Decline in AdBlue Imports

According to customs data analyzed by NaftoRynok, Ukraine imported approximately 19.75 thousand tons of AdBlue in 2024, marking a 3% drop from the previous year.

Main Supply Sources

The structure of AdBlue imports to Ukraine remained largely unchanged, with the product primarily sourced from Poland, Lithuania, and Germany.

Poland remained the dominant supplier, shipping 17.2 thousand tons in 2024, a decrease of 1 thousand tons (-5.5%) compared to 2023. Poland’s share in Ukraine’s total AdBlue imports fell from 90% in 2023 to 87% in 2024.

Although seven Polish companies hold a VDA license (from the German Automotive Association) for AdBlue production, the majority of Ukrainian imports come from Grupa Azoty, which accounts for nearly 85% of Ukraine’s total AdBlue imports.

Meanwhile, Lithuanian imports rose by 9% to 1.56 thousand tons in 2024, while German shipments increased by 60 tons, reaching 670 tons. The Czech Republic supplied approximately 200 tons of AdBlue. Imports from other countries were insignificant.

Poland and Lithuania primarily export AdBlue in large cubic containers. Germany and other countries mainly supply the product in small canisters.
