In June 2023, the volume of diesel exported from Russian seaports to Turkey broke the record again - 1.39 million tons compared to 0.5 million tons in July 2022. Thus, during January-July 2023, the seaports of Turkey increased the transshipment of Russian diesel by almost 3.5 times - to 5.73 million tons, versus 2.06 million tons for the same period in 2022. This is evidenced by the data on the moving sea vessels entering the ports of Turkey.
In the seven months of 2023, 6.64 million tons of ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) and 590,000 tons of gas oil were shipped from the Russian seaports to Turkey. Over 63% of the Russian diesel was loaded into tankers in Black Sea ports - 4.6 million tons. Of these, 2.72 million tons were delivered from the terminals in Novorossiysk, which is more than twice the volume of January-July 2022.
The supply of diesel from the Russian ports in the Baltic Sea during the reporting period increased from two tankers 30,000 tons each to 2.52 million tons during January-July 2023. 70% of this volume were loaded into tankers at the terminal in the port of Primorsk. The share of the Russian Federation in diesel supplies to Turkey by sea increased to 76.4%, versus 35.1% for the same period in 2022.
Since the beginning of the year, Russian diesel has driven away the supplies of fuel to Turkey from Italy - 33,000 tons compared to 737,000 tons for January-July 2022. No diesel fuel arrived in Turkey from Indian ports in July. Accordingly, the supplies from India have decreased from 1.42 million tons to 0.47 million tons since the beginning of 2023. Shipments from the ports of Israel have also decreased significantly - to 463 thousand tons (-32.5%), with none supplied from those of Bulgaria compared to 215 thousand tons for January-July 2022.
