Naftogaz Group has already restored half of the production volumes lost due to Russian attacks in February. This was announced by Naftogaz CEO Roman Chumak during a briefing at the Ministry of Energy.

The event was chaired by Ukraine’s Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko and attended by the leadership of Energoatom, Centrenergo, Ukrhydroenergo, Ukrainian Distribution Networks, Ukrenergo, Naftogaz of Ukraine, Ukrnafta, DTEK Energo, Donbasenergo, and CHP-5.

“This heating season has been the most difficult since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. In the first three months of this year, the enemy launched over eight missile and drone attacks on the Group’s facilities — more than 100 direct hits,” noted Roman Chumak.

Naftogaz ensured gas imports

He stated that in the face of crisis, Naftogaz arranged emergency gas imports, which made it possible to guarantee heat supply to Ukrainian households.

“We ensured emergency imports of natural gas during the first quarter, balanced demand, and not a single Ukrainian experienced a shortage of gas or heat. We stood firm and proved that Naftogaz guarantees energy stability today. That is the key measure of our performance,” the Naftogaz CEO added.

Roman Chumak thanked the Government, the Ministry of Energy, partners, the military, and all energy workers for their joint efforts and emphasized that preparations for the upcoming winter are already underway.

The company also reminds that Naftogaz is entering preparations for the next winter with equipment, a €140 million grant from Norway, and a €270 million loan from the EBRD.
