BRSM-Nafta has increased its imports of Algerian liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to 49.9 thousand tons in 2024 and became the largest supplier of this resource to Ukraine, as it accounted for 39% of its LPG imports to BRSM, NaftoRynok reports.
Largest supplier of Algerian LPG to Ukraine
BRSM-Nafta increased its imports of Algerian-produced LPG almost threefold, up to 49.9 thousand tons in 2024, compared to the volumes of 2023. Thus, BRSM became the largest supplier of Algerian LPG to Ukraine, which accounted for 39% of its procurement basket. In particular, the company has been receiving gas produced by Sonatrach, the Algerian state-owned oil and gas company.
The growth was achieved by owning its own fleet of LPG tankers and developing an efficient logistics system. The company uses three LPG tankers with a total capacity of 3.7 thousand tons, purchased at the end of 2023. As a result, BRSM delivered 34.8% of all propane-butane supplies down the Danube to Ukraine in 2024.
Where Does the Autogas for BRSM Come from?
In general, BRSM-Nafta was maintaining its leadership among LPG importers to Ukraine throughout the entire 2024 by importing 118.7 thousand tons, which exceeds the volume the company imported in 2023 by 24.1%. At the end of 2024, BRSM became the largest Ukrainian importer of liquefied gas. The imported liquefied gas comes from companies in Egypt, the US, Romania, Germany, Hungary, and other countries. Another 10.5 thousand tons of the product were purchased by BRSM-Nafta from Ukrainian producers, the company said.
