Austrian-founded company PII "Amic Ukraine" has been supplying fuel from at least three European manufacturers through its Amic Energy gas station network. This was revealed in a study by NaftoRynok, published in the January issue of Monthly Fuels & LPG, which includes annual reviews of fuel, lubricant, and AdBlue markets.
What gasoline does Amic sell?
In 2024, Amic Energy significantly increased its supply of A-95 gasoline to Ukraine. The company boosted A-95 imports by 72.5% to 33,400 tons, moving up from seventh place in 2023 to fourth place among Ukraine’s top A-95 gasoline importers.
More than 41% of the gasoline sold at Amic Energy’s 200 gas stations in Ukraine comes from Lithuania’s Mažeikiai Refinery, operated by Orlen Lietuva, a well-established fuel producer. The remaining supply is sourced from Austria’s OMV Petrom, a subsidiary of the Austrian oil company OMV.
Amic expands diesel fuel import geography
To ensure a steady supply of diesel fuel, Amic Energy systematically imports diesel produced in the United States through terminals in Poland and other EU countries. Additional supplies come from Lithuania’s Mažeikiai Refinery and Swedish fuel producer Preem.
The company has also periodically imported fuel from German, Kuwaiti, and Dutch oil companies.
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is sourced from the Mažeikiai Refinery and purchased on Ukraine’s domestic market.
Amic Energy in Ukraine: key facts
Amic Energy Management GmbH (Vienna, Austria) acquired the assets of PII "Lukoil-Ukraine" in 2015, including 240 gas stations and six oil depots. The network underwent optimization and rebranding, now operating under the Amic brand. However, due to Russia’s occupation of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, Amic lost part of its retail assets. In January 2023, PII "Amic Ukraine" filed a lawsuit against Russia at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
Amic continues to modernize its network, with the latest renovation completed last week in Cherkasy region. In 2024, the company paid UAH 2.5 billion in taxes to Ukraine’s national and local budgets, UAH 1 billion more than in 2023.
Support for Ukraine
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, PII "Amic Ukraine" has actively supported the Ukrainian government, the Defense and Security Forces, state institutions, charities, and its own personnel. The company’s total contributions exceed UAH 126 million, including nearly 400,000 liters of fuel, over 65 specialized military devices, an ANTIDRON KVSG 6+ drone control suppression system, military clothing and body armor, heaters, vehicles, Hama Supreme universal mobile batteries, 250 DJI Mavic 3 drones, and the conversion of seven command-and-control vehicles based on Roshel automobiles.
Amic Energy remains committed to Ukraine’s energy security and economic stability while continuing to expand and upgrade its fuel supply network.
