Oleksandr Matiushenko has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of UPG Group. He announced the news on his Facebook page. Previously, this position was held by the founder of the group, Volodymyr Petrenko. Yesterday, Matiushenko was introduced to the UPG team.
How UPG Will Change
The company noted that a restructuring of the group is currently underway. According to Volodymyr Petrenko, one of the key tasks of the new CEO is to develop UPG Group, taking into account current market challenges and events.
"We are building a new structure and strengthening our core business areas — wholesale fuel sales and the filling station network," said Petrenko. He also stated that he will step back from operational management and assume the role of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of UPG Group.
What Is Known About Oleksandr Matiushenko
According to open sources, Oleksandr Matiushenko was born in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Odesa region. He graduated from the Odesa State Economic University with a degree in Finance. He has extensive experience in the banking sector.
Previously, Matiushenko served as Director of the Corporate Business Department at Pivdennyi Bank and was a member of the bank’s Management Board from 2021 to 2024.
He began his career at Pivdennyi Bank in 2007 as a Chief Economist in the Credit Department. Later, he became the Leading Economist of the Corporate Client Service Department, and then headed the Large Corporate Client Service Division. Since January 2018, he served as Director of the Corporate Business Department.
As a member of the Management Board of Pivdennyi Bank, his responsibilities included corporate and investment business development. Colleagues from the bank describe him as an ambitious and effective manager. According to Yurii Voievoda, Director of the Investment Business Department at Pivdennyi Bank, one of Matiushenko's key traits is his diligence and ability to implement ideas effectively.
