Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC (UGV) has launched a new production well in eastern Ukraine with a daily flow rate of 145 tcm of natural gas per day, the press service of UGV reports.
The well was drilled and completed in 5 months. The 3,200 m deep well was drilled by Ukrburgaz specialists using a rotary method with a modernized NBO-M drilling rig.
The well location was chosen using the data from modern seismic surveys and a 3D field model. The well justification, engineering, and technical and economic calculations are a joint effort of the project team, 3D modeling specialists, and the development department.
“The well was drilled in the northeastern part of the field, where drilling had not been carried out for about ten years, and it was resumed only last year. I want to thank the team, whose efforts have helped launch 6 new production wells in this field since the beginning of the year. And this is not the limit, by the end of this year we plan to put another 13 production wells into operation here,” said Sergiy Lagno, Head of UGV.
As a reminder, last year, the team of the management office, ShebelynkaGasVydobuvannya, UkrNDIGas, and other branches produced more than 1 bcm of gas per year in this field, which was the highest figure for the last 25 years.
