On September 24, at an auction held by the Ukrainian Geological Survey, Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC acquired a special permit for the use of Zakhidno-Mazharivska, including Gulakivska, the field in the Poltava region for UAH 1 billion (excluding VAT). This is evidenced by the results of the auction, reports ExPro.

The starting price of the area was UAH 313.87 million (without VAT). Two bidders competed for the lot: UGV and Newest Ukrainian Information Technologies LLC (headed and owned by Tetiana Ulovets). State-owned UGV offered the best price and won the auction. The special permit is valid for 20 years. The area of the field is 184.16 square kilometers.

Seismic surveys are the main research on which the understanding of the geological structure of Zakhidno-Mazharivska, including the Gulakivska area, is based. According to the passport recommendations, in 1992, well No. 1 was drilled in the western block of the structure with a planned depth of 3,500 meters, and in 1994, well No. 2 with a depth of 3,400 meters was drilled within the Gulakivska area.

The area is registered by the Fund of Oil and Gas Prospective Objects of Oil and Gas-bearing Regions of Ukraine (Eastern, Western, Southern) as promising for unconventional gas (shale gas and CBM gas) as of January 1, 2020.

On September 24, the Ukrainian Geological Survey offered 11 oil and gas licenses for sale. 6 auctions did not take place due to lack of bids from buyers.

As a reminder, at the previous auctions in November 2022, DTEK acquired a special permit for the Mayorivska field for a record UAH 1.1 billion. In addition, at these auctions, DTEK also acquired a special permit for Birkivsko-Zinkivska Square for UAH 211 million. Also in November 2022, Ukrgasvydobuvannya acquired a special permit for Rybnytska Square for UAH 9.145 million.
