Humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan has arrived in Ukraine to support the energy sector. The shipment includes more than 50 types of high- and low-voltage cable products, generators of various capacities, as well as transformer equipment.

“This aid was provided under the Agreement on the Donation of Energy Equipment for the Restoration of Energy Infrastructure,” Ukraine’s Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk wrote on her Facebook page.

According to her, Ukraine and Azerbaijan signed this Agreement on August 11 this year, following the announcement of a $2 million allocation from Azerbaijan’s reserve fund for the purchase and delivery of electrical equipment.

“Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Azerbaijan has delivered 125 humanitarian shipments to Ukraine with a total weight of 2,110 tons worth over $11.5 million. The aid has included generators, power transformers, transformer substations, cable products, and other critically important equipment,” the minister emphasized.

Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, this is the fourth agreement on humanitarian assistance from Azerbaijan to Ukraine’s energy sector.

In Ukraine, the shipment was received by Deputy Minister of Energy for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization Roman Andarak, and First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ukraine Farid Babayev.

Svitlana Hrynchuk expressed gratitude to the people of Azerbaijan and to the country’s President Ilham Aliyev for supporting Ukraine in this difficult time.
