In August, the top ten diesel importers to Ukraine experienced notable changes. "BRSM-Nafta" was displaced from the top ten, while PPEK entered the ranking, securing the 9th position. This is reported in the September 6, 2024 issue of NaftoRynok Daily Fuels & LPG.
"Alliance Energo Trade" remained the top importer in August, showing the largest volume increase among the top ten suppliers with a 22% rise compared to July. This marks the second month in a row that the company has led in import growth. "Alliance Energo Trade" accounted for 12% of the total diesel imports in August.
The top ten importers' lineup shifted slightly from the previous month. "BRSM-Nafta" fell to 11th place, while PPEK's import volumes more than doubled, allowing it to enter the top ten.
Overall, the top ten importers together made up 60.3% of all diesel imports in August, down from 66.8% in July.
NaftoRynok also noted that importers boosted their fuel supplies in anticipation of the upcoming excise tax increase. Diesel imports to Ukraine increased by 8.6% over the first eight months of 2024 compared to the same period last year.
President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law to raise fuel excise taxes, effective September 1, and recently dismissed Rostyslav Shurma from his position as Deputy Head of the Presidential Office.
