Members of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, together with the head of the company, Oleksiy Chernyshov, held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal.

The parties discussed increasing their gas production, which is a strategic task for achieving energy independence.

"Ukraine has great potential in the field of gas production. The key priority is to reduce imports to zero and cover our own needs. We outlined the steps to achieve the set goals," Shmyhal noted.

According to the Prime Minister, one of Ukraine's competitive advantages is large and reliable gas storage facilities. Currently, Ukraine is discussing with its partners the possibility of using them for its natural gas reserves as a reserve until next winter.

"I told the members of the supervisory board about long-term plans in the energy sector. Our goal is compliance with European standards and full integration into the EU energy space," added the Prime Minister.
