The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will extend the term of special obligations for natural gas supply to heat producers until the end of the 2024-2025 heating season - April 30, 2025. Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko stated this during the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine.
“Indeed, the gas PSO expires on August 31. It will be extended until the end of the next heating season, that is, until April 30. The relevant project has already been developed,” the Minister said.
In addition, the Ministry of Energy and the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission, which carries out state regulation in the energy and utilities sectors, calculate the economically feasible gas price for gas turbine and gas piston plants. Halushchenko said that it could be reduced from the current 16,500 UAH/tcm (including VAT).
“Ukraine is facing a difficult winter ahead. In these conditions, the key task of Naftogaz Group is to provide Ukrainians and Ukrainian businesses with certain stability and predictability during the next heating season. Gas is the main guaranteed source of energy today. Therefore, we, as the largest national energy company in Ukraine and a gas producer, will continue to be a support for Ukrainians in these difficult times,” said Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz Group.
