On July 25, at a meeting of the Government, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine issued an order appointing PricewaterhouseCoopers (Audit) LLC (PwC) as the auditor of the financial statements of Naftogaz of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy.
The firm will conduct a mandatory audit of the financial statements of Naftogaz in 2023-2024. The supervisory board of Naftogaz recommended approving the relevant firm as the subject of audit activity for the provision of audit services.
As a reminder, PwC was also approved by the Government as an independent auditor of Naftogaz for 2021-2022 based on the results of an open auction in the Prozorro system. Under the terms of the tender, the company conducted, in particular, an audit of the consolidated and separate statements of Naftogaz of Ukraine, prepared in accordance with international financial reporting standards.
As reported, Naftogaz of Ukraine in the first quarter of 2023 received UAH 7.7 billion in net profit.
