Svitlana Hrynchuk may become the new Minister of Energy of Ukraine — her candidacy has been proposed in the new government of Yulia Svyrydenko with the support of the Servant of the People faction. The corresponding letter signed by Svyrydenko was published by MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a list of candidates for key positions in the new government. Among them is Svitlana Hrynchuk, proposed as the Minister of Energy of Ukraine.

The submission dated July 17, 2025, was sent to the Verkhovna Rada based on proposals from the Servant of the People parliamentary faction.

On July 17, the Verkhovna Rada approved the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The decision was supported by 253 Members of Parliament.

Svitlana Hrynchuk has been serving as Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine since September 5, 2024.

Hrynchuk's Biography

Svitlana Hrynchuk was born in Chernivtsi. She graduated from the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics (Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics), specializing in finance and economics. She holds a PhD in Economics. In 2013, she defended her dissertation on the topic: “Development of Mortgage Lending in Agriculture of Ukraine.”

In 2016, she headed the Department for Climate Change and Ozone Layer Protection at the Ministry of Environment.

In 2019, she served as an advisor to the Prime Minister, working on environmental protection and climate change issues.

In 2020, she worked as an advisor to the Minister of Finance on a voluntary basis.

In 2021, she became one of the co-founders of the NGO ESG Association Ukraine. She was engaged in public relations entrepreneurship.

In 2022, she participated in international environmental and energy projects (GIZ, USAID).

On July 29, 2022, she became Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine for European Integration.

On September 5, 2023, she was appointed Deputy Minister of Energy under Herman Halushchenko.

On September 5, 2024, she was appointed Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.
