Consumption of renewable liquefied gas may reach 25 million tons by 2050. This was stated by Eva Abramjuk-Lete, General Manager of the European LPG Association (Liquid Gas Europe), during an industry conference in Katowice (Poland), reports a correspondent from NaftoRynok.

Details

According to the baseline forecast of the Liquid Gas Europe association, production of renewable liquid gas (rLG) in 2050 will amount to 6.3 million tons. The medium scenario predicts growth to 12.5 million tons, while the high scenario — up to 25 million tons. This figure includes the total volume of rLG and rDME production.

Renewable liquid gas (rLG) is a liquid fuel derived from waste such as oils, plants, and other plant-based materials. It is a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fossil fuels, particularly LPG.

rDME is dimethyl ether produced from renewable and recycled carbon feedstocks. It is also an eco-friendly fuel, chemically similar to propane and butane, and behaves similarly to LPG. It can be easily and safely transported in liquid form in cylinders and tanks under pressure.
