After a 15-year hiatus, high-octane gasoline has returned to OKKO gas stations, according to a NaftoRynok correspondent who visited a station in Kyiv. The new fuel became available at OKKO filling stations in May.

OKKO Finds Margin in High-Octane

According to NaftoRynok, OKKO is importing A-98 gasoline from Poland, produced by PKN Orlen. The new fuel, labeled as Pulls 100 on station signage, is priced at UAH 67.99/liter, making it one of the most expensive high-octane fuels on the Ukrainian market. It is currently available at 50 OKKO stations across nine regions and the city of Kyiv.

OKKO previously sold A-98 gasoline at its stations between 2005 and 2010, offering fuel from the Mažeikiai refinery. However, the company discontinued the project due to insufficient margins and limited demand at the time.

Who Else Sells High-Octane Gasoline in Ukraine

In addition to OKKO, A-98 or A-100 gasoline is available at WOG, Shell, UPG, SOCAR, BVS and Marshal stations, as well as from regional players such as KLO, RLS, Grand Petrol, Aslan, and others.

As previously reported by NaftoRynok, in March, A-100 gasoline from Slovakia became available through the Transcarpathian network Eleron. It is worth noting that high-octane gasoline is not subject to Law No. 3769-IX dated June 4, 2024, “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Mandatory Use of Liquid Biofuels (Biocomponents) in the Transport Sector,” meaning it is not required to contain 5% bioethanol.

As noted in the 2024 issue of Monthly fuels & LPG by NaftoRynok, UPG has been the leading importer of high-octane gasoline into Ukraine for several consecutive years, accounting for 63% of all A-98/100 imports. The top five suppliers in 2024 also include SOCAR, WOG, Grand Petrol, and Solar Oil.
