OKKO Group launched a 90 MW wind farm in Volyn. This was reported on Facebook by Andrii Herus, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Utilities.

Details

Because of the cold weather, the wind farm started operating earlier than the planned commercial launch. For more than a week, the wind power plant has been supplying electricity to Ukraine’s power system free of charge, Herus wrote. He said the decision was made to minimize shortages caused by the current weather conditions.

The plant’s operation will provide several additional hours of electricity for more than 100,000 Ukrainians, the lawmaker said.

OKKO Group plans further expansion: in February 2026 it intends to bring another 60 MW of wind generation online, and in the first half of the following year—an additional 190 MW.
