At its meeting on January 24, 2023, the NEURC adopted the resolution "On the approval of the Procedure for the certification procedure of the gas storage operator", reports the press service of the commission.
The procedure was developed by the NEURC for the purpose of implementing the norms of European legislation, ensuring the certification of the gas storage operator, bringing its activities to international standards, and complying with the requirements to prevent risks to the safety of natural gas supply and to meet the requirements of the current legislation of Ukraine.
The procedure determines, among other things, the list of documents, data, and information provided by the economic entity that submits a request for certification, as well as the certification procedure.
The NEURC noted that the approval of the procedure for the certification of the gas storage operator is an important and necessary step for the certification of the gas storage operator.
Certification of the gas storage operator:
- will create conditions for the growth and development of the natural gas market, as well as for maximum loading of underground gas storage capacities;
- will contribute to additional financial income from underground gas storage services;
- will contribute to the strengthening of energy stability in Ukraine and Europe;
- will contribute to the further integration of the Ukrainian natural gas market with the European one.
