Roman Chumak, CEO of Naftogaz Group, met with the leadership of the IMF mission to Ukraine, the press service of Naftogaz reports.
IMF Chief of Mission Gavin Gray attended the meeting, his deputy Trevor Lessard, IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Priscilla Tofano, IMF Deputy Executive Director for Ukraine Vladislav Rashkovan, and Senior Mission Economist Heiko Hesse.
What did Naftogaz and the IMF discuss?
At the beginning of the meeting, the Naftogaz Group CEO thanked the IMF for its long and steadfast support of Ukraine. Chumak informed the IMF mission leadership about the efforts made by Naftogaz Group to support the country's energy sustainability and ensure a stable heating season.
According to him, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Naftogaz Group's facilities have been subjected to 15 missile and drone attacks. The production facilities have suffered significant damage, but Naftogaz is doing everything possible to continue supplying gas to consumers.
“We are in full control of the situation. Yes, it is difficult, but not critical. Naftogaz imports gas in the volumes necessary to balance the system and meet the needs of all consumer groups,” said Roman Chumak.
He thanked the IMF representatives for their open dialog and support and expressed hope for enhanced cooperation to ensure Ukraine's energy sustainability.
