Gas Supply Company Naftogaz Trading LLC, a part of the Naftogaz Group, purchased an additional 139.5 mcm of natural gas at the Ukrainian Energy Exchange in November. This was announced by the chairman of the board of Naftogaz Oleksiy Chernyshov.
"Despite already sufficient reserves for the current heating season, in November Naftogaz Group purchased another 139.5 mcm of gas on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange," Chernyshov said.
According to ExPro data, Naftogaz purchased 116.8 mcm of the UGS-booked resource and 22.7 mcm of the December-booked resource. Gas purchase prices on the exchange were 12,804 - 13,160 UAH/tcm (without VAT).
"First of all, this way we fill the state budget because these are taxes. Secondly, we stimulate greater production, providing domestic companies with the necessary liquidity," commented the head of Naftogaz.
As a reminder, from April to July 2023, the parent company Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC bought Ukrainian production natural gas on the exchange, purchasing more than 718 mcm of natural gas during this period.
