In July 2025, India became the largest supplier of diesel fuel to Ukraine, according to NaftoRynok Daily Fuels&LPG analytical issue.
Details
Indian-origin fuel primarily entered the country via tanker deliveries along the Danube from Romania. Situationally, the partially sanctioned channel through the Turkish OPET terminal in the port of Marmara Ereğlisi also remains open.
The average daily import volume of Indian diesel in July amounted to approximately 2.7 thousand tons, or 15.5% of the monthly supply base. This is one of the highest figures of 2025, comparable to April’s 15.9%.
Over the first seven months of 2025, India’s share in the diesel supply structure reached 10.2%, more than five times higher than last year’s figure (1.9%). At the same time, in physical volumes, imports from India still significantly lag behind Turkish and Greek resources.
July structure
Diesel from Greece and Turkey was among the prevailing sources in July, though it was outpaced by Slovakian product deliveries. Only one in five tons came from Polish and Lithuanian Orlen Group supplies.
Exports of Swedish diesel from Preem’s facilities to Ukraine continue to grow, reaching peak levels since Russia’s full-scale invasion. The record volume for the past three and a half years arrived in Ukraine via Poland from Denmark, accounting for 4% of total imports in July.
