The average wholesale price of diesel in 2023 decreased by UAH 5,98 /l (-11.6%) to UAH 45,06/l. This was reported by NaftoRynok, citing its own daily price monitoring.
The highest wholesale price of diesel was recorded at the beginning of the year, which amounted to UAH 50,91/l. Subsequently, the fuel price decreased, and the next rise above UAH 50,00/l occurred in early October. The minimum wholesale price of diesel during the year was UAH 33,23/l in early June.
The rapid drop in wholesale diesel prices during Q1-Q2, along with a slower response in retail, led to an increase in the average trade margin on 8 May, reaching a maximum of UAH 11,49/l in 2023 (up to UAH 15,19/l for majors sellers). The lowest margin last year occurred in early August at UAH 2,42/l, when the wholesale price of diesel increased continuously for more than a month due to the return of the tax burden to pre-war levels from 1 July and the recovery of the foreign oil and petroleum products market.
