Ukrgazvydobuvannya JSC (UGV), which is part of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC, within the framework of cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will receive 6 th tons of methanol, which is a critical raw material for the production, preparation, and transportation of natural gas. The first batch of methanol has already arrived at the company's warehouses. This was reported by the press service of the UGV.

"We greatly appreciate the support of international partners in this difficult time for Ukraine. With the beginning of a full-scale war in Ukraine, there was a shortage of a large amount of materials and equipment for gas production. Therefore, since last year, we have been negotiating with companies and organizations from all over the world to help them ensure the stability of production processes. The USAID representatives were among the first to respond to our request, and we are grateful to them for that," said the Acting General Director of UGV Oleg Tolmachev.

According to UGV, methanol is a critically important material to produce hydrocarbons, the needs of which in Ukrgazvydobovaniya reach 28 th tons per year. It is used to combat and prevent hydrate formations in gas pipelines during gas production and transportation, as well as for testing new wells and wells after overhaul.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, UGV has completely switched to purchasing methanol from European suppliers. "The assistance from USAID will make it possible to create an additional reserve of strategic stocks and ensure an uninterrupted production process until the end of the heating season," - noted UGV.

It will be recalled that Ukrgazvydobuvannya managed to conclude an agreement on the purchase of methanol cheaper than before the war. UGV concluded a contract for UAH 200 million with the Polish company Solvachem sp. z o. o. for the supply of 12 th tons of methanol.
