Ukrainian importers are clearing the second batch of Chinese diesel that was delivered to European ports since the beginning of the war. Thus, in the fourth quarter of 2022, four Ukrainian operators purchased arctic diesel from Unimot. A Polish company informed NaftoRynok that it had purchased a small batch of 6,000 tons of Chinese diesel from Shell, which had arrived at the port of Gdynia, and then was picked up by Ukrainian traders by truck through two bases – Małashewicze and Radzonkiw.

The current supply of diesel from China has a different route. Thus, in January 2023, the Norddolphin tanker arrived at the port of Ventspils bearing about 100,000 tons of diesel addressed to Vitol after a seven-week voyage from the Chinese port of Dalian. The international trader loaded in China part of the resource purchased from Petrochina International Northeast Co, which was unloaded in the Latvian port. The first 700 tons arrived in Ukraine in February by gasoline tankers, only four trucks arrived in March. Part of the resource was sent by rail to the terminals in Riga, where Ukrainian importers take diesel from most of the times.
