Ukrgazvydobuvannya JSC successfully overhauled a 20-year-old well, which, after the resumption of operation, produced a daily output of more than 150 tcm of natural gas. This was reported by the press service of the UGV. Due to the depletion of the target productive horizon, the well was idle and was not exploited.
"Since the beginning of the year, thanks to major repairs, we already have more than five wells where more than 100 tcm of gas production is obtained per day. In cases of an overhaul to restore the operation of old wells, investments are much smaller compared to the costs of drilling new facilities," comments the acting general director of UGV Oleg Tolmachev.
As noted in UGV, the success of the work carried out on this well opens up the prospect of refining the geological model of the field, reassessing hydrocarbon reserves, and conducting additional drilling of new wells.
