Ukrgazvydobuvannya JSC (UGV), a part of the Naftogaz Group, over the last month launched two new production wells at one of the largest fields in Eastern Ukraine, which together added more than 300 tcm of daily production. This was announced by the chairman of the board of Naftogaz Oleksiy Chernyshov.

"This field is more than 50 years old, but thanks to new wells we have managed not only to stop the decline in production but also to achieve an increase in production performance. The field still has deposits with high residual potential. To unlock all its potential, Ukrgasvydobuvannya specialists are currently drilling and developing 10 more production wells," Chernyshov said.

The company also noted that thanks to modern seismic surveys, the field has resumed additional exploration. This makes it possible to increase proven hydrocarbon reserve volumes. To this end, 5 new exploration wells have been designed with the first one already drilled.

The head of UGV Tolmachev noted that in order to meet the production growth targets set for 2023, Naftogaz is increasing the volume of drilling at the fields where it is justified by geological conditions and technical and economic calculations.

The drilling program for 2023 at this field was developed by experts of UkrNDIGaz, the Development Department of JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya, and GPD ShebelynkaGazVydobuvannya. Both wells were drilled by the Khrestysche Drilling Division of Ukrburgaz, with the fracking operation performed by UGV-Service.
