Ukrgazvydobuvannya JSC (UGV) plans to drill more than 90 wells in 2023, which is twice as many as last year (42 wells). This was reported by the acting general director of UGV Oleg Tolmachev, during the Suppliers' Day event, which was devoted to the organization of UGV purchases.

According to ExPro estimates, this will be a record level for the number of UGV wells drilled in at least the last 20 years. Ukrgazvydobuvannya plans to drill 67 production wells and 24 exploration wells in 2023.

The company expects that the total volume of drilling wells in 2023 will be about 330,000 m, which is 53% more than last year. In general, during the 9 months of the current year, Ukrgazvydobuvannya drilled 243,000 m, which exceeds the drilling volumes for 2022, as well as the drilling volumes in pre-war 2021.

In addition, UGV plans to significantly increase the volume of well operations, such as coiled tubing (+5%), overhaul of wells (+65%), and hydraulic fracturing (+207%).

"Next year, the company has ambitious plans to increase the volume of work, which in turn will require larger volumes of purchases for a stable production process," Tolmachev said.

According to Ukrgazvydobuvannya, the drilled wells will increase natural gas production by 1.1 bcm. In general, the company expects a 6% increase in gas production in 2023.
