The Norwegian energy company Equinor provided Ukrgazvydobuvannya JSC (UGV), part of the Naftogaz Group, with methanol in the amount of 2,000 tons, the Naftogaz press service reports.

"This is a critically important raw material for producing, preparing, and transporting natural gas, and it has already been delivered to Ukraine. We are extremely grateful to our partners for their help in such a difficult time for Ukraine," said Oleksiy Chernyshov, head of Naftogaz.

According to the company, the supply of methanol is carried out with the support of the European Commission's Emergency Response Coordination Center (ERCC) under the European Union Mechanism for the Protection of Civilian Population and the Energy Community Secretariat's Operational Support Task Force for Ukraine (ECS-USTF).

Naftogaz also noted that for the first time in the history of UGV, methanol was delivered from Europe by rail, which required complex logistical solutions.

"We have been maintaining professional contacts with Equinor for several years. We hope for further deepening cooperation to ensure Europe's energy stability," said the acting general director of UGV Oleg Tolmachev.
