Ukrgazvydobuvannya JSC, which is part of the Naftogaz Group, drilled and commissioned a new well in Eastern Ukraine. The daily output of the well is 230 tcm of natural gas per day. This was reported by the Naftogaz press service.
"We were able to deliver this result at a gas field discovered more than 45 years ago, which had long been seen as having low potential. Upon application of updated approaches to data interpretation, the Ukrgazvydobuvannya development team discovered additional gas reserves in the subsoil. I am very grateful to all the employees who took part in these efforts," said the head of Naftogaz, Oleksiy Chernyshov.
According to the company, five more wells are planned to be drilled at this field to fully realize the identified gas production potential.
"Our goal is to produce at least 1 mcm of gas per day at this field. This will be a significant contribution to the implementation of our plan to provide the whole of Ukraine with gas of domestic production during the next heating season," added Acting General Director of UGV Oleg Tolmachev.
