In the first half of 2024, Ukraine saw a significant reduction in gasoline imports, falling by 33.9%. The total reached 508,400 tons compared to the same period in 2023, according to the June 2024 issue of NaftoRynok Monthly Fuels & LPG.

During this period, A-95 gasoline made up about 96.1% of imports, with high-octane A-98/100 grades accounting for 3.9%. Romania led as the top supplier, providing 38.7% of the gasoline, followed by Poland (23.9%), Lithuania (15.7%), and Germany (11.2%).

Imports by road transport fell sharply by 46.8% to 125,100 tons.

However, the second quarter saw a 16.7% increase in gasoline imports from the first quarter, reaching 273,800 tons, due to anticipated fuel excise tax hikes.
