The total cost of fuel sold (gasoline, diesel, LPG) at gas stations in August 2024 amounted to 33.9 billion UAH, which is 4.1% less than in July, and the total volume of sales decreased by 4.7%, according to the data of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, analyzed by NaftoRynok. The volume of retail sales in August decreased after an increase of 11.7% in July. Let us recall that the previous decline occurred in June, when sales decreased by 2.8% compared to May.
According to the STSU, growth in sales in August compared to July occurred only in Zhytomyr region (+0.8%), while others experienced a reduction. The largest reductions occurred in Zaporizhzhia region (-12.0%) and Kyiv city (-8.2%).
At the same time, fuel sales in August 2024 decreased by 5.0% compared to the same period last year. On an annual basis, the largest reduction was felt in Donetsk region (-20.0%), as well as Chernivtsi (-11.8%) and Zakarpattia (-10.7%) regions. Growth in August 2024 compared to August 2023 was recorded only in two regions - Kyiv city (+2.0%) and Kherson region (+1.7%).
According to the STSU, the total number of active retail fuel trading licenses as of the end of August 2024 in Ukraine was 6,794.
